A Quick Shoutout

I'm not going to go too much in depth about this, but for those of you who remember my summer reading post, there was a particular book recommendation on it by a particular author named Neil Gaiman.

Neverwhere is perhaps one of, if not the favorite book I have read this summer, and I recently learned that a radio play of it was done and broadcast on BBC Radio back in 2013. It boasts a stellar cast including James McAvoy (as Richard Mayhew the protagonist), Benedict Cumberbatch, Natalie Dormer, and Anthony Head. Now, I don't know about you, but I find James McAvoy's scottish accent to be perfectly sexy. And being a huge Sherlock fan, I could listen to Benedict Cumberbatch all day long.

If you don't want to read the book, I highly recommend checking out the radio play. It pretty much covers all the important stuff, with only minor changes or artistic licenses being taken. It's a great adaption and well worth checking out while on a jog, in your daily commute, at work, or just sitting around at home. Listening to it made me feel like I was transported back in time, when the primary form of mass broadcast was radio, and everyone used to gather around their radio for Franklin Roosevelt's fireside chats.

You can find the play through a quick YouTube search. Whenever you find yourself with a free pair of ears, check it out!
